Local Merchants ~ Latino Flavors

The Flint Hill Latin Market was founded in 2022 by David Mendez.  The market brings together Latino brands and flavors with produce and products from local farmers and makers.

David was born and raised in Honduras.  He first became interested in Virginia long before he moved here: in high school history  he chose Virginia as a subject place to study.  David later came to  Virginia in 2008 to study at Bridgewater College.  He graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration .

David  moved to Rappahannock County in 2020 during the pandemic, where he was able to telecommute to his work in Arlington.  He fell in love with the area, meeting many of the local producers and farmers.  Seeing a need for a market in the Flint Hill area, an idea was born –  a Latin Market that also provided access to local produce and products from regional farmers and makers.  In March of 2022, the Flint Hill Latin Market opened its doors, bringing the sabores de mi tierra, the taste of my land to Flint Hill – both the flavors of Latin America and of Rappahannock and the surrounding region.
